Varekort The cat returns (region 3) Based on Neko no Danshaku, Baron (literally "Baron, the Cat Baron") by Aoi HIIRAGI, the movie follows Muta (the fat cat in Whisper of the Heart) and Baron (also from Whisper) as they set out to rescue a young girl named Haru who has wandered into the world of cats. Neko is a fantasy adventure story directed by Hiroyuki MORITA, with music by Yuuji NOMI (who also composed the music for Whisper), and a script by Reiko YOSHIDA. It was released in theaters in Japan with Ghiblies Episode II on July 19, 2002 by Toho. It was produced by Toshio SUZUKI with Hayao Miyazaki as the Executive Producer. The story opens with an alarm bell ringing and a hand reaching out to turn it off. Under the blanket, Haru moved into a more comfortable position then realized that she was late for school, and quickly rushed to get ready, albeit without first doing a vanity check. She greeted her mother in the kitchen who told her to eat first. When Haru refused, she playfully tempted Haru by biting into her own topped-up bread and saying how delicious it was, while Haru looked on in a very jittery manner. Finally she said that it wasn't fair and ran off.
